Braided Metal Hose – CS Sch.40 Male NPT x 150# Floating Plate Flange
From $92.25
321 stainless steel corrugated hose with 304 stainless steel single braid, carbon steel Schedule 40 Male NPT on one end, and carbon steel Class 150 floating plate flange on the other. Configure 1.50–2.00 in. hose ID and OAL online; larger threaded-end sizes require RFQ and engineering review.
Description
Equipment with threaded connections frequently has to tie into flanged piping – a threaded pump discharge into a flanged header, a threaded coil connection into a flanged riser. This hybrid assembly makes that transition in a single flexible component: 321 stainless steel corrugated hose with 304 stainless braid, a carbon steel Schedule 40 male NPT nipple on one end, and a carbon steel 150# floating plate flange on the other. The floating flange rotates freely until the bolts are torqued, so bolt-hole alignment never fights the thread engagement on the opposite end – an assembly detail that matters when one end is already fixed. Five sizes are stocked in overall lengths from 14 to 36 inches. Along with eliminating a threaded-to-flanged adapter and its leak path, the hose section isolates vibration and accommodates the small offsets that are inevitable when connecting equipment to structure-mounted piping.
Key Features
- Transitions threaded equipment to flanged piping in one component
- Floating 150# plate flange – rotates for bolt-hole alignment after threading the NPT end
- Carbon steel Sch.40 male NPT, threads per ASME B1.20.1
- 321 stainless corrugated hose with 304 stainless single braid
- Five stocked sizes; overall lengths 14″–36″
- Removes one fitting and one leak path versus adapter-based transitions
Applications
Pump and equipment connections where nozzle and line terminations differ; hydronic heating and cooling systems; industrial water piping; skid packages where field bolt-up flexibility is required. Typical media: water, glycol, compressed air, and fluids compatible with stainless hose and carbon steel fittings.
Materials & Construction
Hose: 321 stainless steel corrugated. Braid: 304 stainless steel, single layer. End A: carbon steel Schedule 40 male NPT nipple. End B: carbon steel 150# floating plate flange, ASME B16.5 Class 150 bolt pattern. Welded construction.
Pressure, Temperature & Application Review
Allowable pressure and temperature depend on hose size, braid construction, fitting design, operating temperature, media, movement, bend radius, cycle requirements, and installation geometry. Do not select this assembly from nominal size or connection type alone. Submit the design conditions when the service is critical or outside normal mechanical-piping conditions.
Displayed prices and selectable configurations do not constitute a certified pressure rating, code-compliance determination, or engineered system approval.
Testing & Documentation
Testing, tagging, material documentation, and written reports are available only when included in the accepted quotation or order acknowledgment. State all testing and documentation requirements before production release.
Ordering Notes
Select size and overall length, measured from end of thread to flange face. Install the threaded end first, then rotate the floating flange to align bolt holes. For female NPT, stainless fittings, or other flange classes, request a custom quote. All assemblies are made to order; published ratings apply at
70°F and derate with temperature. Applications outside published ratings require
engineering review before order – request a custom quote and our engineering team will
respond with a certified configuration.
