Description

The 321SS Braided Metal Hose – Carbon Steel Class 150 Plate Flanges is a made-to-order flexible metal hose family for flanged equipment and piping connections. The configured construction uses 321 stainless steel corrugated hose, 304 stainless steel single braid, and carbon steel plate flanges with Class 150 drilling.

Overall-length engineering note: The Numeric OAL field is a commercial configuration range, not a universal minimum-length approval. Required live hose length depends on hose size, fitting geometry, braid collars, movement, bend radius, and installation geometry. Short or tightly constrained assemblies may require RFQ review even when the entered OAL is within the configurator range.

Applications

Typical applications may include pump and equipment connections, mechanical-room piping, retrofit work, industrial maintenance, and piping interfaces where a flanged flexible connection is required. Media compatibility and allowable operating conditions must be evaluated for the complete assembly.

Pressure, Temperature & Application Review

Class 150 identifies the flange class / drilling basis; it is not a direct PSI rating for the complete hose assembly. Allowable working pressure depends on the selected hose size, hose and braid construction, fittings, welds, operating temperature, media, movement, bend radius, cycling, support conditions, and installation geometry.

A displayed price or selectable configuration does not constitute a certified pressure rating, code-compliance determination, minimum-live-length approval, or engineered system approval. Submit the actual design conditions when the service is critical, the required OAL is unusually short, movement is expected, or project documentation is required.

Installation Considerations

Measure the installation carefully, but do not assume that matching an existing face-to-face dimension automatically produces a suitable flexible assembly. Corrugated metal hose must not be installed under torsion, forced below its applicable bend requirement, compressed into an unsuitable geometry, or used as an unrestricted expansion joint. Connected piping must be properly supported, anchored, and guided for the application.

Testing & Documentation

Testing, tagging, material documentation, inspection records, and written reports are supplied only when included in the accepted quotation or order requirements. State documentation and testing requirements before production release.

For an OAL below the online range, a different flange material or construction, unusual movement, special cleaning, testing, documentation, or any application where minimum live length is uncertain, submit an engineering RFQ.
